A Journey of Strength, Love, and Healing: My Breast Cancer Story
This Breast Cancer Awareness Month holds a deeply personal meaning for me. It is with a heart full of gratitude and a renewed sense of purpose that I share my story of diagnosis, battle, and triumph over breast cancer.
When I first heard the words “You have breast cancer,” my world was shaken. But I knew immediately that I was not alone. I had my faith, my family, my friends, and my incredible community of colleagues standing by my side. They lifted me up when I felt weak, believed in me when the fight was tough, and never let me feel like I was battling alone.
To my husband Jason, you were my rock. Through every tear, every moment of fear, and every triumph, you stood strong, unwavering in your love and support. To my mother, my father, and my children, you gave me the strength to keep fighting, reminding me daily of the beauty of life and why I had to win this battle. To my family and friends, thank you for your endless prayers, phone calls, and visits. Your encouragement became my fuel on the hardest days.
And to my colleagues and the broader community, thank you for your patience, support, and for continuing the work we’ve been building together. You not only stepped up for me professionally but also personally, showing me what true camaraderie and love look like.
Even amidst the storm of cancer, I felt compelled to keep moving forward. Breast cancer may have tested me, but it did not define me. While undergoing treatment, I launched the 1MM Global Campaign, a movement focused on empowering one million women to take charge of their health and lives. I also had the privilege of creating and hosting the Heal Women, Heal the World Health Fest, an event that brought women together to focus on holistic healing, health education, and empowerment.
But my proudest accomplishment during this time was publishing my coloring book, “Colorful Heroes: Kids Kick Cancer with Dr. Robyn,” which I co-authored with my amazing children, Rayna and Jayson White. This project was incredibly close to my heart, as we wanted to provide a tool children could use to see themselves as heroes who can battle or help a loved one battle cancer in various ways. It was our way of giving back, honoring young heroes like my children, who are more powerful than they realize.
This journey has transformed me in so many ways. It taught me the true meaning of resilience, the power of faith, and the importance of community. It reminded me that even in our darkest hours, we have the strength to rise, to heal, and to help others heal too.
As I move forward, cancer-free, I am more committed than ever to using my platform to advocate for breast cancer awareness, early detection, women’s health, and support for those who are fighting their own health battles. We are all in this together, and I want every woman facing this diagnosis to know: you are not alone, and you are stronger than you think.
Thank you to everyone who stood with me, fought with me, and believed in me. Together, we will continue to heal, inspire, and make a difference.
With love and gratitude,
Dr. Robyn White, DNP
