One year ago, I took a leap of faith.
Still healing from my own diagnosis.
Still walking through the fire of recovery.
Still holding on to hope like it was breath.
And with that hope, I launched something that scared me, stretched me, and stirred something deep in my soul—the 1MM Movement: One Million Mammograms. One Million Women Empowered. One Million Reasons to Fight.
This wasn’t just a campaign.
It was a call to action.
It was a line in the sand.
It was the moment I said—no more silence, no more delay, and no more sisters lost to what we could’ve caught early.
A Year of Power in Motion
Since May 2024, dozens of women have taken the 1MM Pledge, and several have already followed through with life-saving mammograms.
Women told me it was the push they needed.
Some went for their first-ever screening.
Others showed up after years of putting it off.
And many brought their sisters, mothers, coworkers, and best friends with them.
We’ve spoken on stages.
Shared stories online.
And whispered “thank you” in hospital parking lots with quiet tears and loud courage.
What we’ve built isn’t just about awareness—it’s about activation.
Because awareness without action doesn’t save lives. But action? Action changes everything.
The Real Heroes
The true heroes of this movement are the women who took the pledge, got screened, and said out loud:
“I will not wait. I will not be afraid. I choose me.”
You chose your children.
Your future.
Your body.
Your breath.
You made self-care sacred again.
And to every caregiver, health advocate, and supporter who walked alongside a warrior—you are just as vital to this mission.
The Work Isn’t Done—But We’re Just Getting Started
This one-year mark isn’t a finish line.
It’s a launchpad.
Because here’s the truth:
Breast cancer is still rising—especially among younger women.
Too many of us still don’t know the signs.
Too many of us delay care out of fear, cost, or lack of access.
And too many systems still don’t see us, serve us, or prioritize our lives.
That’s why the 1MM Movement matters more now than ever.
And that’s why we won’t stop until we hit one million mammograms—and one million stories of early detection, survival, and victory. This isn’t a campaign, it’s a divine assignment.
